Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RigCache (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the OwnIt mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the App:

• •Account information— such as your name, email address and phone number, provided when you sign up or sign in.
• •Location data— your device’s precise and approximate location, if you grant permission. See Section 2 for details.
• •Content you provide— information, files or images you enter or upload in the App.
• •Device and usage information— such as device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs and diagnostics, used to keep the App working reliably.
• •Notification tokens— if you allow notifications, a device token used to deliver them.

The App only accesses device features such as location, the camera, photos or storage when a feature needs them, and only after you grant permission. You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

2. Location Data

OwnIt is a location-based game, and its map and territory capture features need access to your location.

• •What we access— your device’s precise (GPS) and approximate location, along with related readings such as speed and timestamps.
• •When we access it— while the App is open and during a territory capture. If you allow location access “all the time” or “always”, location may continue to be collected while the App is running in the background, for example if you switch apps during a capture. Location is not collected once the App is closed.
• •Why we use it— to show your position on the map, load nearby territories, record the route you walk to claim a territory, and detect cheating such as GPS spoofing.
• •What we store— the shape and location of the territories you capture, and the time, distance and average speed of each capture. Your route is sent to our servers to verify the capture. Points from an unfinished capture are kept on your device so you can resume it.
• •Who can see it— your territories and username are visible to other players on the map and on leaderboards. Your live position is not shown to other players.
• •Your choices— you can turn off location access at any time in your device settings, but the map and territory capture will not work without it. When your account is deleted, your territories and location data linked to it are deleted as described in Sections 6 and 7.

We do not sell your location data or use it for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

• •Create and manage your account and authenticate you
• •Provide, maintain and improve the App’s features
• •Use your location to run the map and verify territory captures
• •Send service notifications you have opted in to
• •Respond to support requests
• •Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and technical issues
• •Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• •With service providers that host, store, or help us operate the App (for example cloud hosting, authentication, crash reporting and push notification services), who may process it only on our behalf
• •With Google Maps, which displays the map around your location and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy
• •With other players, limited to your territories and username as described in Section 2
• •When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or others
• •With your consent

5. Data Security

Data sent between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal, fraud prevention or dispute resolution purposes, which are kept only for as long as that obligation applies.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your OwnIt account and associated data at any time. See Delete Your OwnIt Account for instructions.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the App.
